Central Pancreatectomy Introduction:

Central Pancreatectomy is a surgical procedure performed to remove a tumor or lesion from the middle portion of the pancreas. This operation helps preserve the healthy head and tail of the pancreas while removing the diseased section. It is usually done for benign or low-grade pancreatic tumors located in the central part of the pancreas.

Precision Removal of Mid-Pancreatic Lesions with Organ Preservation

This procedure is performed under general anesthesia with the patient placed in a supine position to allow proper access to the abdominal cavity. The abdomen is prepared with antiseptic solutions and covered with sterile Nivda Drapes to maintain a safe surgical environment. Surgeons create an abdominal incision and use retractors, electrocautery devices, and suction instruments to expose the pancreas. The central portion of the pancreas containing the lesion is carefully separated from surrounding blood vessels and tissues. The remaining pancreatic segments are then reconstructed, often by connecting the distal pancreas to the small intestine to maintain digestive enzyme flow. Hemostasis is secured and the surgical site is closed using sterile coverings and protective dressings.
