Precision Vitreoretinal Surgery for Macular Hole Closure

This procedure is performed under local or general anesthesia depending on the patient’s condition and surgical complexity. The eye and surrounding area are prepared with antiseptic solutions and protected using sterile Nivda Ophthalmic Drapes to maintain a clean and contamination-free surgical field. Small micro-incisions are created through the pars plana, and a vitrectomy system is used to remove the vitreous gel from the eye. Delicate microsurgical instruments are used to peel the internal limiting membrane around the macula, allowing the edges of the hole to close more effectively. A sterile gas bubble is then placed inside the eye to support retinal healing and promote successful macular hole closure during recovery.
